Principles of mechanics including points, bodies and assemblies in static equilibrium. Areas examined will include trusses, frames, beams, cables, machines, point and distributed loading, and moments of inertia, scalar and vector analysis. More advanced topics will include deformable bodies and stress, strain, torsion, shear, bending, and fracture. Introduction to kinetics, kinematics, and strength of materials. Formerly EGR-1020.Students may not receive credit for both EGR-1020 and EGR-2200.
