PGCC Baseball Team Heading to NJCAA World Series

The Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) baseball team is headed to the big leagues.  The Owls soundly defeated the Surry Community College Knights on May 20, 2017, 11-9 to win the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) District D Championship and earned a spot in the NJCAA Division III World Series. 

The Owls (33-13-1) is one of seven teams to advance to the NJCAA World Series after winning a district title, while one at-large team will also join the field.  The bracket will be announced by Wednesday, May 24, 2017.  This marks the Owls’ second trip to the NJCAA Division III World Series under head coach Buddy Foster. The series is slated to be held May 27-June 1 at Pioneer Park in Greeneville, Tennessee.
