Oil and Gas Industry Executive Speaks at 19th Millennium Management Lecture Series

LARGO, Md.—Marlon Harrison, vice president and director strategy and portfolio at Motiva Enterprises, LLC, will share his business management experience in the oil and gas industry during the 19th Millennium Management Lecture Series at Prince George’s Community College, March 5, 9:30 a.m., Accokeek Hall, Room 300. The gathering is one of the college’s most prestigious discussions. It grants students and members of the community access to outstanding leaders in business and government. The event is free and open to the public. 

“During his decades of experience in the oil and gas industry,Harrison has held leadership positions that involved finance, marketing, contracts and economic analysis,” said Faith Breen, professor of management at Prince George’s Community College.  “We are confident he will be an inspiration to students and the broader community as they envision success in their own lives and strive to achieve their dreams.” 

Prior to his current role at Motiva, Harrison served as general manager of U.S. Commercial Fuels & Global B2B Risk Marketing for Motiva Enterprises and Shell Oil Company. He managed national bulk sales of road transport fuels, heating oil in the U.S. Northeast and a global risk-marketing program.  Motiva Enterprises, LLC is a refining and marketing joint venture owned by affiliates of Shell and Saudi Aramco.   

Past Millennium Management Lecture Series speakers include Rear Admiral Barry C. Black (retired), the first African-American to serve as the Chaplain for the United States Senate; Susan Gooden, director of the Race and Social Policy Research Center at Virginia Tech; Lenneal J. Henderson, distinguished professor, School of Public and International Affairs, University of Baltimore; Janie Jeffers, former White House deputy executive director under President William Clinton; Koby J. Langley, special assistant, Office of the Secretary of Defense Wounded Warrior Care and Transition Policy; Benjamin Nelson, managing director at the U.S. Government Accountability Office in Washington, DC.; Joel Szabat, deputy assistant secretary for the U.S. Department of Transportation; and John Wilson, the first African-American to own a McDonald's franchise. 

Prince George’s Community College is a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Two-year Education designated by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security (2010-2015).
