About UTC Just a short walk (about 5 minutes) from the Prince George's Plaza station on Metrorail's Green Line, Prince George's Community College at University Town Center (UTC) offers students a convenient location for college credit and workforce development courses. The Center opened in August of 2000 and has grown steadily since that time. It now serves approximately 2,500 credit and continuing education students each semester. Classes are small, personal, and available weekdays, evenings, and on Saturdays. Programs and Services NOTICE: To allow for staff development Academic Advising opens at 1:00 PM on the first and third Fridays of each month. Academic Programs: UTC offers approximately 200 credit sections each semester in a wide range of areas. New and transferring students seeking college credit can apply in person or online for admission to the College. To apply online, simply click the "Admissions & Registration" link on the homepage. UTC offers a wide range of services, including placement testing, orientation programs, academic advising, financial aid advising, and tutoring and writing center services. Not all services are available every day; call the center for more information. You can search for UTC classes by using Owl Link, the college's online registration system. Under additional search options, set the location to PGCC at University Town Ctr. Payment Information: Please note that cash is not accepted at UTC. The staff can assist you to make a credit card payment online. We also accept checks and money orders. Purchasing textbooks: University Town Center now has an on-site college bookstore. The store, located on the ground floor of the facility, is open throughout the peak registration period. The bookstore is also open on a more limited basis the rest of the year. Programs for English Language Learners (ESL Programs): The college's three programs (Academic ESL, Transition ESL, and Adult Education ESL) are all well represented at UTC. Workforce Development and Continuing Education: A number of noncredit certification programs are offered at UTC.
